Who is Lake Robinson Baptist?

1. The people are not cool.

Sorry to say it but we know we are not cool nor do we try to be.  There are churches that try to be "cool" and have programs that attempt to be cool. Instead of being cool, we often call ourselves a group of "MISFITS".  Jesus was a misfit. He did not attempt to blend in  with others to be accepted.

John 15:18 ¶ If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

2. The purpose is not self-improvement

We are not interested in helping you become a better you. Why is that? Because you cannot improve the fleshly man.

Ro 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Jesus does not want a better you but a new you. He has the power to make you a new creature through the new birth. After that, He gives you the power to live the new life through the power of the Holy Ghost which enables us to live in obedience to His word.

3. The preaching does not soothe sin

Yes, the preaching may step on your toes but we are not aiming for your toes; we are aiming for your heart. Jesus loves you too much to comfort you in your sins. His first message was repentance and desires for us to turn to Him from our sins. We know that there are churches that seek to make you feel comfortable in your sins.; whose purpose is  to make you feel good about yourself. We would rather you be RIGHT with God than to be comfortable in your sins.

4. The people are not perfect (neither is the pastor)

We believe that God has a high and holy standard and we should aim to be who God wants us to be. We also have mirrors and realize that we all fall short of His standard. Being hypocritical is to pretend to be something that one is not. Being realistic is to admit that we don't always live up to even our own standard. Thank God that He offers repentance and forgiveness when we do fail.

5. The place of worship is not flashy

Yes, our services still feel like church. People are smart; they know when churches are trying to camouflage religion in the culture of the world.  We do not attempt to hide they Savior behind smoke, mirrors, and entertainment. Jesus is the purpose of the church. He moved in our churches in our grandparent's day and still has the power to move today. When God moves we do not need man's substitutes.

If you do not have a church home you are welcome to visit with us.
